The crowd from Letcher Co says somewhere around 50% there draw SSI or SS . Can't see why ,they constantly run ads for miners on Ky radio stations and have that brand new school... On a more serious note, perhaps it would be time we face the fact that everybody isn't gonna be able to be a lawyer/doctor/teacher/engineer and it might have been wise to have to protect the country's tax base.

Overall...it was from a study done about the county from the 60s to the present. It was done to talk about why the jobs hadn't shown up, since the state had forced them to close their schools and the funding mostly came from coal severance tax. At least that was the way I understood them. They are looking at getting a new prison, laughing saying the kids could go straight from high school to jail, without ever leaving Letcher County. The thing was for all households, at the present time, worse it had ever been- the way it was told, political debate- issue between the front runners. I don't think you can be illegal and draw SS or SSI can you? I mean some programs are pretty loose, but gee . But with "Open Door George"...
